Large printing machines with drive on the printing table have a printing plate driven by a rack and pinion. It can be moved simply by turning the drive wheel. In this case, the upper roller does not exert pressure. This is particularly advantageous for soft printing materials, such as printing plates made of corrugated cardboard and styrene plates. Otherwise, of course, all other printing techniques can be used, such as etching, linocut, woodcut, and intaglio. The frame of the press is made of sturdy cast aluminum, and the upper and lower rollers are made of steel with a diameter of 80 mm. The height of the upper roller can be adjusted using two adjusting screws. The rotating handles are designed to easily achieve sufficient pressure for creating etchings. To reduce the counterforce, the drive shaft has a reduction of 2.4:1 and acts directly on the drive gears of the lower shaft and the racks of the printing plate through an innovative reduction system with double gears. The printing plate consists of a galvanized steel plate with a thickness of 2.5 mm with bolted racks and a plywood plate with a thickness of 15 mm. The printing plate is guided by four ball bearings. A suitable printing felt is included. The printing force is approximately 1000 kg.
