Mechanical pencils, also known as fountain pencils or automatic pencils, are pencils whose graphite is placed in a wide casing made of metal or plastic material. This way, it provides protection for the graphite from breaking, convenience during use, and durability of the pencils used.

Depending on the softness and thickness of the graphites used for automatic pencils, manufacturing companies offer replacement materials for their operation. The set of replacement graphites from the Czech company "Koh-I-Noor" contains 12 pieces of black graphite sticks with a thickness of 0.5 mm, softness B, and a length of 60 mm.

The standard sizes of the sticks make them suitable for loading not only into the automatic pencils of "Koh-I-Noor" but also into the fountain pencils of other manufacturers whose tip has an opening of 0.5 mm.
