The watercolors from the Cotman series by Winsor & Newton are specially designed for educational purposes, although their high quality makes them suitable for students and beginners as well as professional artists.
In the Cotman series, some of the more expensive metal dye pigments have been replaced with alternative, high-quality, and organic pigments. The resulting watercolors (indicated with the label "Hue") again have brilliant, clear, and pure colors, with high transparency, slight spread, and color fastness, while their excellent coverage allows individual colors to mix with each other.
The color range of individual Cotman watercolors from W&N consists of 40 colors, which are available in 8 ml tubes.
