Naples Yellow is an opaque pinkish-yellow pigment. Originally used as a pigment from lead antimonite, it can be found in baobab tiles from the 5th century BC. Its name derives from the natural deposits in the area of Mount Vesuvius, near Naples. Used by the old masters, it has been artificially produced since the 15th century.
