ARTIDEE FORMAFORM SYNTHETIC RUBBER 1250 GR. - 60 181

ARTIDEE FORMAFORM SYNTHETIC RUBBER 1250 G - 60 181

Product Information

Formaform is a synthetic, rubber-like molding compound that melts like wax in a water bath on a hot stove and is then immediately ready for molding. For this purpose, the liquid molding material is poured directly onto the model placed in the mold box, where it immediately flows evenly, thus creating the desired shape. Just 30 to 40 minutes later, the molding mixture cools down and can be removed from the model as a finished mold. However, it must then harden for another 1 - 2 hours before it can be used for molding. Formaform is a versatile molding mixture with unique application possibilities. Compared to silicone, it is cheaper, also because a failed mold can be remelted at any time and used to make a new one. For this purpose, the failed mold is cut into small pieces with scissors, remelted, and reused for mold casting. Shortly thereafter, the perfect mold is ready. Recycling of this material is possible up to 6 times. The downside, however, is that the mold can only be used once, as it is not resistant to heat or water. But this can also be changed: to make it reusable like a silicone mold, it is impregnated with Formaform Thermolan, which is also included in the package. After that, it is thermally and water-resistant and can be used multiple times (10-20 times). However, through impregnation, it loses its melting property. The mold made from Formaform is medium-hard and has good mechanical strength values, which allows it to cast molds from all ceramic casting mixtures, polyester and epoxy resins, wax, casting soap, gypsum, cement, and more.
