ARTIDEE BATIK WAX 600 GR. 81112

High-quality batik wax, created according to an old Javanese recipe, consisting of Pisan honey wax and demara resin. When melted, this wax mix is slightly thixotropic (does not run), adheres perfectly to all types of fabrics and fibers without soaking into them, and is water-repellent. It creates clean and smooth lines as soon as it cools down. The wax can be washed out of the fabric at any time with warm water, leaving no stains or discoloration.

Technique: Contour lines are drawn on the fabric with the Pisan wax. Once cooled, the fabric is dyed with silk or textile dye. The surface covered with wax remains uncolored, creating a pattern/design effect.

Instructions: The wax is placed in a small bowl (batik wax bowl) and heated until melted. It can then be applied with the bowl, or with a brush or stamps. It melts at 65°C and is translucent white in color.
