Copic markers are fast-drying, non-toxic alcohol-based markers. They have a square body with two tips, one of which is broad and slanted for coloring large areas, while the other is thin and firm, similar to a felt-tip pen. The caps on both ends of the marker are colored in the ink color, which is also indicated on the marker, helping to match the exact ink when writing with a Copic.
The rich color range of the "Original" Copic markers includes a wide spectrum of 214 smoothly blending shades, allowing for the recreation of realistic images and drawings. In addition to color tones, the series also includes a blender, which serves to remove colors from images. When writing, the markers can be refilled with Copic alcohol-based ink, and if different types of tips are needed, their original nibs can be replaced with tips that leave lines of various sizes and shapes.
