Linseed oil is a traditionally used plant solvent for oil painting. It serves to thin the paints and enhance the brightness and gloss of their colors.
The linseed oil for painting by "Maimeri" is made from an extract of ground and pressed flax seeds, subjected to additional processing for purification and increased resistance to light and moisture. The oil intended for artistic purposes has a slight yellowish tint and a soft glossy finish. It is used to thin thick oil paints, which not only allows for easier application and blending of brush strokes but also increases the transparency and depth of the applied layers. Compared to other mediums for oil paints, linseed oil dries quickly. Upon drying, it tends to yellow slightly. It can be thinned with turpentine.
The refined linseed oil by "Maimeri" is available in glass bottles with capacities of 75 ml, 100 ml, 1 l, and 5 l.
