Createx 4021 Reducer is a thinner used for diluting water-based paints. 4021 Reducer appears clear in the bottle and does not affect the color when mixed with paints.
Createx 4021 Reducer is compatible and recommended as a thinner for all Createx paints and transparent varnishes.
Comparison with 4011 Reducer and other thinners:
4021 Reducer has a slower evaporation rate compared to 4011 Reducer, allowing paints mixed with 4021 to flow and level better, improving the finish by reducing brush marks and spray unevenness.
4021 Reducer practically eliminates the drying of the paint's surface. Createx paints have much less surface drying when thinned with 4021 Reducer compared to thinning with 4011 Reducer.
Createx paints can be thinned generously with 4021 Reducer, so the colors spray well at reduced pressure without smearing, allowing the colors to blend and flow seamlessly. Thinning with 4011 Reducer does not create this effect.
Generously thinning Createx paint with 4021 Reducer and allowing the mixed paint to acclimate for 10+ minutes to reduce surface tension is similar to "over-thinning" solvent-based urethane paint before applying with an airbrush, which allows the colors to "melt" and spray without texture or stippling effect.
Both 4011 Reducer and 4021 Reducer can be used with any Createx paint and are typically added to colors in the same volume, although due to its ability to enhance flow and leveling more than 4011 Reducer, 4021 Reducer can be added in smaller volumes to Createx paints.
See the technical data sheet for 4021 Reducer for more information on thinning and mixing specific types of colors.
