The flake metal is a fine transfer foil that effectively imitates noble metals like gold, silver, and copper. The fine flakes of flake metal are sprinkled onto a flat and smooth base (if the base is porous, it should be pre-treated with a primer). A strong adhesive glue is applied to the desired base, which is then sprinkled with the fine foil and pressed down using a soft brush or sponge to ensure it adheres well to the glue. To remove any unnecessary and unglued protruding pieces of flake metal, they are rubbed off, resulting in a smooth and even gilded, silvered, or coppered surface.
